Fussy Cutting and Foil!

Today was a good day for stamping! I made my card kits for this weeks workshop. This month we are working with foil cardstock.

This first card uses the truck from Stampin’ Up’s Country Livin’ stamp set and the sentiment from a retired set. The new Sparkle embossing folder makes a great faux sheet metal back ground. Image was colored with Prismas.

The second card was inspired by Rae Harper. The new Petal Burst embossing folder and copper foil cardstock made a nice band. The sentiment is from Thoughtful Branches and the leaves from one my favorite standbys…Lovely as a Tree. Wink of Stella provided a bit of sparkle.

Thank you for stopping by!

World Card Making Day 2016!

You know it’s a good day when they make one of your favorite things into a day of world recognition! Chocolate Lover’s Day, Ice Cream Day…and of course World Card Making Day!

I didn’t post a card yesterday as all the kids are home for the weekend (hurray!) and I lost track of time. This was made for my great aunt Joyce to welcome fall…and to , hopefully, make up for  the fact that I haven’t written to her since early summer! I love fall colors and, as you can see, I squeezed in quite a few here! The stamp sets used are Stampin’ Up Lovely as a Tree , Timeless Textures and the Paper Pumpkin from September. The small pumpkin and sentiment are so cute! Inks used: So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Cherry Cobler and Chocolate Chip. The card base is Chocolate Chip.

I hope you were able to spend some time crafting this weekend!

Thanks for stopping and taking a look!

Workshop cards from September…finally!

When school starts back up and I return to work it takes a little while to find my groove again while balancing schedules and craft time. I thought I published the workshop cards we made in September…but the post was left as a draft! So…here is a photo of our cards. We met for our first club workshop of the year Sept 15th. The focus of the workshop was to do a little coloring and work with embossing folders.  The card on the left was made with the new Dapper Denim cardstock with my favorite neutral color , Crumb Cake.  We used three Stampin’ Up stamp sets: Country Livin’ , Marquee Messages and Timeless Textures.

The second card had some more dimension to it. We used the new sponge brayers from Stampin’ Up to color the background using the new Seaside 6×6 embossing folder; it brings a lot of great texture to a card. We used a window sheet to make a porthole. The From Land to Sea stamp set was used along with the Happy Birthday stamps from the Number of Years stamp set.  We used Prisma watercolor pencils to color the images on both cards.
